I refuse to stand alone in the wind
Now that I know about you.
Ages have seen me standing here
And I have seen them dissapear,
The stars have lost their ways at night;
Shot down the Sun in broad daylight
Filled the universe with fear;
But I won't be afraid anymore.
I will not spare the mournful haze
And all the time that gave me pain
That kept me from your gentle blaze
Shall kneal and wait for your sweet rain.
Many souls, their tears run dry,
Have sought your light beyond all lights,
Have taken courage in belief,
Kept solemn vows in lonely nights;
I smell the remnants of your scent,
(I give myself to vain relief:
Being of such ungodly bent
I have no eyes or mind to see
What brilliant plans you keep for me.)
A moment's blink - my heart is changed:
All nasty things are rearranged,
And this blind man can now confide -
For me there's nowhere left to hide;
And I won't be afraid anymore.
