I Wonder Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

I Wonder

I wonder

I wonder what would happen if
-I could peel me as they peel
-the corpses of animals
-slaughtered…? !

I wonder if I'd be able to cut it
-into single fat free cells
-or with fat
-to make carpets and mattresses and
-blankets
-for those who have the Earth as bed
-and sky as blanket
-with sufferings of all sorts
-imposed
-by the one percent

I wonder if I could ever stretch each cell
-to be large enough to make a tent
-for the homeless

How many cells do I have in my skin?
-I wonder! ! !
-how many can I accommodate? !
