I Won't Poem by Ayomikun Akinwunmi

I Won't

I won't be tamed, or shackled, or bound;
I won't be told where to go or how to be found;
I won't be silenced, or made to feel small;
I won't be broken, or made to fall.

I won't apologize for who I am,
For my flaws or my strengths,
I won't compromise my values,
To please others or fit in.

I am strong, I am fierce, and I am free;
I am a force to be reckoned with, don't you see?
I am a man, I am powerful, and I am bright;
I am a force of nature, and I am not afraid to fight.

Come at me, with your hatred and your fear;
Come at me, with your lies and your sneers;
You can come at me, with all that you've got,
Because I won't back down, I won't be caught.

I will stand my ground, and I will fight back;
I will not be silenced, and I will not be broken;
I will not be made to feel small, or weak, or afraid;
I am a man, I am powerful, and I am proud.
