My Silence Poem by Ayomikun Akinwunmi

My Silence

My silence is not of the grave,
But of the sea, that speaks not save
In whispers and in murmurs;
And when it speaks, its words are love.

My silence is not of the night,
But of the stars, that shine not save
In soft and tender light;
And when they shine, their light is love.

My silence is not of the dead,
But of the living, who have fed
On thoughts that are divine;
And when they speak, their words are love.

My silence is not of the tomb,
But of the life that knows not doom,
But lives in peace and love;
And when it lives, its life is love.
