I Would Poem by Zara Denette

I Would

If I could stop the world, go back,
And kiss you, dear, just one last time
I would.

If I could hold you in my arms
And whisper you a lullaby
I would.

If I could see your face again
And tell you that you’re still the one
I would.

If I could give my life for you
And save you from yourself, my love,
I would.

If I could hold that bullet down
And let it shatter me instead
I would.

If I could fall into your light
And be with you eternally,
I would.

If I could stop the world, go back,
And say, “I love you” one last time
I would.
I would.
