Icarus Poem by Michael Stephen

Icarus

She has chosen me as her lover, her rock,
some would question me as a safe harbor.
in this ever changing sea of time swimming
be that as it may, she has created a love sick Pirate
who she in charm has pulled beneath the waves.

I discover the magic treasure of her submarine canyons,
a secret world of her vulnerability, and sensitivity,
a world of her divine pleasures. Soon I find a new part of me emerging
I am Icarus brooding of his wax carvings of wings and feathers.

Her rose peddle eyes made passionate promises like Doris Day
in a Rock Hudson movie, and her lips, what lips, draw me deeper
into her kisses and pheromones kick in like opium dreams
and a hypnosis of loves deepest heart begins to entwine us
begins to unwind us and we are left in love
no longer tied to three dimensions, no longer
just beings on the physical plane no we are beneath the waves
of loves embrace, within embrace of divine passion
like a Dream Works dream inside a lovers play
of make believe faith and prayer.
