Iceskating Poem by Vanessa Brown

Iceskating

Rating: 4.0

The cool ice beckons, a brave couple venture out,
And the crowds begin to cheer:
Nervously skating, but heads held high,
Hearts pounding with fear, they maintain their pose...

And the music starts.

Suddenly they're twisting, twirling, flowing and fast,
Gliding on air; or flying on ice;
Twisting, twirling, free, an ecclectic mirage
Of exotic colours and sounds.

The captivating pair don't just skate,
And you watch not a mere dance:
It's the utter syncronization,
Not only of languid limbs,
But of their heart's desire -
Desire to win, a passion to excel.

Hearts pounding with fear, they maintain their pose...

And the music ends.
