Identity On March 29,2010 - Poem by Francisco R. Albano

On the eve of full moon in Aries 2010
Time of dry grass and birds of silence
And 10-minute scattered showers of mercy
Rationing of water and electric power
Civil wars and protest movements
They came a community to celebrate my life
And their lives in me and creation in me
They read messages of love and posted
Them on the wide redboard of my heart.
At 5: 01 AM the cellphone broke sleep
And sang hapi b-day u r precious 2 me
One by one early conspirators followed
Who said
You are number essential for a series to be
You are air fire water and earth
Concatenated living atoms of surprise
Flow in the Everflow of is and is-not
True mimesis of your archetypal Form
You are particular rationality and animality
In thisness of substance and accidents
Who said
You are phenomenon categorized and thematized
Shaped by moral imperatives this way and that
Feeling of freedom controlling image and idea
You are expression of Spirit-Mind articulating
Himheritself painfully patiently joyously in time
Who said
You are infinite responsibility for the Other
Ally in the people’s struggle for ethical socialism
Historical subjective intersubjective objective
Presencing event of art and multilayered meaning
In festival of play and sacred symbol for people
Occasion of dynamic Quality you are
Who said
You are flesh of our flesh blood of our blood
Anak Manong Mahal Papa Uncle Lolo
Kasama Bren Jason David Francisco Paco
Who said
You are brother friend neighbor to me
Anointed one sent to be servant prophet priest
My son sinner-saint in whom I am pleased
My face before you were born.
I said
Amen
