If Poem by Edwina Reizer

If

If all the world were funny
I could laugh it away.
If all the world were sad
I could cry night and day.
If all the world were kind
I could soothe my soul.
If all the world were mean
I could play a friendly role.
If all the world were ugly
I could close my eyes to its sight.
If all the world were beauty
I could indulge in delight.
If all the world were peaceful
I could capture calm.
If all the world were love
I could offer to all my palm.

And if all the ifs can never be
then what's to become of you and me?
