If I Cannot Be With You Poem by Edwina Reizer

If I Cannot Be With You

If I cannot be with you
and time keeps moving along
then I wish for you to hear me
by listening to my song,
That alone would be a comfort
to know that in your ear
my music would caress you
just from what you hear.

If I cannot be with you
and time is running out
then I wish for you to see me
for then I'd have no doubt
that I'm a vision you can't forget.
Let me be a picture in your mind
of when we two first met,
a picture you can always find.
