If I Could Return To My Ordinary Mind Poem by Shalom Freedman

If I Could Return To My Ordinary Mind

If I could return to my ordinary mind
And live simply
From event to event
From moment to moment
If I could look out now
And see the wind in the grass
And the sun on the building stone opposite
If I could just rest
In being here now
How much happier
This old troubled life would be.
