If I could touch the stars,
I would gather all their light
I would bring them to the world
So they would banish every blight
And I would scatter starlight
In the most neglected homes
I'd hang them up like signs that read
"You are not alone"
When moonlight fades to black
And strangers still must roam
I would send those stars to heaven
To light their way back home
And when the dark comes early
I'd have light for all who weep
And when the sun comes late
The stars would wake us from our sleep
