I want to paint a picture
Of the sun at high noon.
To capture all the beauty
Of the brilliant full moon.
We fear the darkness closing in
We fear the pain of losing friends
We fear the bugs, we fear the snakes
We fear mistakes, we fear the end
People in front of us
People in back
We are never alone
On this great grey track
Look at the girl in the corner
Look how she sips her tea
Look at the book, all dusty and old,
That she brought to this lively party.
If I could touch the stars,
I would gather all their light
I would bring them to the world
So they would banish every blight
