If I Love You Truly Poem by Meng Lim Dr

If I Love You Truly

Rating: 4.0

If I love you truly
It should not be for my own sake
I should give you ten-fold more
Than that which I should take.

If I love you truly
To you I must belong
Till the light of the last star fades away
Till the earth has sung every song.

If I love you truly
Every flower sings with me
In praise of our timeless devotion
Of love that outlasts eternity.

If I love you truly
Let words be few, more in every deed
To every sweet moment of time in life's short journey
To the wondrous joy of now, I must heed.

If I love you truly
Of forgiveness I must ask for my wrong
Youth dwells in the home of folly
But faith and time have made us strong.

If I love you truly
I must find myself in you alone
Let the love-light shine ever in our hearts
In earth's paradise that we call our own.
