If I Said I Was Ok Poem by Hunter Jade East

If I Said I Was Ok

Well I thought by now you'd realize
The difference between the truth and lies
But now I know I hide things oh, so well
In the end everything worked out
Or so we thought but how about now
In the end I know now where I've went wrong

If I said I was ok
Would you know it was only pretend
If you saw my heartache
Would you look the other way
I know I hide everything
But deep inside I'm screaming
If I said I was ok
I was lying

Well I thought by now you'd understand
The love I felt is now reprimand
Oh, oh, and yet I try to pretend to be fine
If I say much moreI'll surely fall apart
If you walk away it would surely break my heart
But I'd understand where I went wrong

If I said I was ok
Would you know it was only pretend
If you saw my heartache
Would you look the other way
I know I hide everything
But deep inside I'm screaming
If I said I was ok
I was lying
