If I Said What I Felt Poem by B.A. Phillips

If I Said What I Felt

I'm taking out a breath
And giving it to you
Too much for me to say
I just thought you knew

Two years and waiting
There's nothing left for me to do wrong
Two years in waiting
I guess I'll just sing a new song

Where do my efforts go
Did they just come too fast
Was it all for nothing
Or another lessoned learned last

Say it's tomorrow
Say it will be soon
Sometimes I wonder if you care
And it just crushes my tune

I guess I'll blow it a kiss
And say a goodbye
I'll give my heart away
I just won't even try

Just say you heard me
Another love-you-know-why
Please say its just a phase
Please don't leave me in a sigh
