If I Was Who I Am Poem by Hemendra Singh Deopa

If I Was Who I Am

Rating: 5.0

If I was who I am
I wouldn't let my mind play games
in thinking the world is as beautiful
as the dew drops on the tree leaves
After the drizzle
Not as beautiful as the smiles of my village men and women
seen from the perspective of absolute innocence of a child
And as beautiful as the snowy mountains peaks
Far away yet always smiling at you as it seemed
All this and than you have to grow
Just to find out there are parameters
At every step to surpass one after another
And I would definitely complain now and then or forever
But that if I remained who was I
And now I am who I wasn't
And I don't complain nor I cry
Not even I worry
Because now I know
All this is temporary
The joy, the worry, the gloom the happiness
Not even stands the life
So why to live as if I never lived
But to live everyday
Never to let your heart ever be sad
Never to let another be sad because of you
For, if the world is temporary
Let happiness be more often your contemporary.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

" now I am who I wasn't " is a fantastic revelation to one and all, because the world around us try and mould someone or something out of us, different from what we actually are…. Profound write.5*
