If My Verse Poem by SAIPRAKASH KUNTAMUKKALA

If My Verse

Rating: 5.0

IF MY VERSE
Could bring a smile on a maiden's lips
Could be sung as a lullaby by a mother to her crying kid
Read as a bedtime story to an attentive child
Recited at a poetic conclave
A cyclist or a laborer singing loud on their early morning sojourn
A kid jumping in glee on a monsoon day
Splashing water around from a pool by the roadside
A seafarer joining his voice with a fisherman's song
Young couple on a winter night singing loud round the bonfire
A lone traveler humming as he reaches his destination
A loud speaker playing at the temple fair
As a song of truce between the warring nations
My life as a poet and purpose of my verse is fulfilled
