I wish I could be there
to hug you til dawn
and take away your pain
soon, I will be
in the meantime
you will be ingrained
in my heart
in my prayers
continually

you will get by
going through the motions
your heart will get through this
even if it's hard to hear now
you will get through today
and then another
day by day

not many days can a man say
he's sauntered with his soulmate

I want you to know
the days ahead will get better
one more day at a time
things will be better
tomorrow
they will
or the next day
then better the day after that

you will be okay
you will heal
from this experience
trust me

trust the cycle of life
you will then begin to feel grateful
