If only I had known,
The rules of the game.
I wudn’t have strived for
Love, money or fame.
If only they wud have taught me
What counts?
Instead of how to count.
If only they wud have taught me,
It’s important to make a life
Instead of making a living.
If only they would have taught me,
That I m the same as the sun & the moon.
& this life is a boon.
If only they wud have taught me,
All that glitters is not gold,
To make money, I wudn’t have sold my soul
But still there are dreams to be realized
& promises to be fulfilled.
There are memories to be cherished
& wounds to be healed.
So, I wud start it
All over again
One more time….
Coz winning & losing is just
Part of the game.
If only I had known,
The rules of the game.
I wudn’t have strived for
Love, money or fame.
making mistakes is just part of being human. nobody is perfect, dear. and what is more important than seeing these mistakes and correcting it by not doing it again. this poem will help others understand the importance of sharing experiences...not to degrade your protagonist but to make others realized their own mistakes. very moving! : -)
Its seems like words of a person who is in despair, yet not convinced of what and why certain things happened, but try to make your heart understand.... now let it go, but.....! You have put it together nicely.....
never to late to play again never to to late to let go of pain never to late to see the light never to late to learn wrong from right.....................thank you for the reminder...John
