If Only Poem by Kishore Asthana

If Only

This life has been good to me
But why do I always see
That which could have been
Why do I always sense
Paths I have left unseen

I could, if I would
Is I would, if I could
When inertia rules
over heart's desire
And I cling with zeal
To the warmth of my fire

Till now, when, any day
The stairs will roll away
And my flight will take off
With me, wondering
If I should've been
in another one
