If only I could ride,
I'd feel free.
Such power!
Such grace!
What a mystery!
To feel the air,
Flow through my hair-
And sense the beating vibration!
Just to see that sinewed neck,
Maneuver up and down-
Main and tail whipping in the wind!
No saddle,
Nor blanket,
Nor halter,
Nor bridal,
Nor lead!
Just to be one,
With my faithful steed!
If only I may ride,
Contented would I be.
