If Only You Had Kept Your Word Poem by Latasha Gregory

If Only You Had Kept Your Word

If only you had kept your word
My snappy voice would not be heard
Instead you think it's nice to test
my anger when it's at it's best

In a lying contest you'd win
Being spiteful is a sin
If only you could see the pain
Do you think it's just a game?

I must've been delirious
To think you'd take this serious
I guess it was too much to ask
To give you such a simple task

And this speech would not be heard
If only you had kept your word
