If Poems Can Be Worn Poem by Aya Poetess

If Poems Can Be Worn

If poems can be worn
they will be made of
the finest silk
intricately laced
by the shape of your lips
impeccably patterned
by the scent you left
on the satin pearls
you kissed

If poems are worn
I'll wear them
in highest fashion
I'll strut on the runways
of Milan, New York, Paris
of lonely hearts' cul-de-sacs
Let them feel
how love can conquer
an insurmountable barrier
Let them taste
how words can heal
the pain they bear

If poems can be worn
I'll be the quill
you'll be the twill
Oh, my exquisite toile
let's dance like tulle roses
billowing with truffles and prose
with clouds of heat
and of passion
and together,
we'll display
the dulcet corset
of fairy tales
and the allure of
lyrical haute couture

Wear me
wear you
and together
we'll create
the magic
and grandeur
of an unforgettable story

Ahhh, if poems can be worn..
