மணம் வீசினால் அது மல்லிகை
மனதைத் தொட்டால் அது கவிதை
சிரித்தால்தான் மல்லிகை மல்லிகை
சிரித்தாலும் அழுதாலும் கவிதை!

If the flower smells sweet that is jasmine
If the words touch the heart that is poetic line
If the flower laughed then only jasmine is jasmine
If it laughs or cries it is always poetry!


செப்பினைச் செதுக்கச் செதுக்கச் சிலை
செந்தமிழைச் செப்பச் செப்பக் கவிதை
செப்பினை சிலையாக்கும் சிற்பியின் கை
செந்தமிழைக் கவிதையாக்கும் கவிஞனின் கை!

Chisel chisel you will get copper statue
Rivel rivel in words you will get poetic blue
Sculptor's hand shapes the statue copper
Poet's hand makes the poeticsplendor !

நீரோடும் வழி நதியின் பாதை
நெஞ்சோடும் மொழி தமிழின் கவிதை
நீரோடைகள் பாடும் பாடல் நீரலை
நினைவோடை உணர்வுகளின் பாடல் கவிதை!

Water ways are river's path
Heart's thoughts are poetical path
Brook's singing song is gentle waves
Poet's songs aremind's feelings!
