If You Pray For Rain Poem by Charles Karia

If You Pray For Rain

In a meeting where you pray for rain,
Bring an umbrella and ignore the sun.
Without which the good Lord,
If he brings the rain the going'll be bad
Children will get sick and mothers will whine.
Rains will cause pain, you'll still not be fine.

If you pray for a wife on Monday,
Have on Tuesday some quarters ready,
Without which the good Lord,
If he brings the carefully chosen wife,
The in-laws and friends will mumble,
And you'll have a house of shame.

This therefore is how you believe;
Shoot prayers in the world spiritual,
Preparing by faith in things physical.
And it is this holy convergence that,
Ingnites the distilling process fast,
Of things physical from realms spiritual.
And the responsible God and the needy man,
Cooperate with no unnecessary sorrow added.
