If You Think Poem by NABENDE EMMANUEL LEONARD CHIPUKIZI NABENDE

If You Think

Rating: 4.0

If you think you know
Do you know the day when your mother was a virgin?

If you think you are Wise
Can you write on water?

If you think you are arrogant
Can you have lunch with the sun?

If you think you are powerful
Can you order the sun to shine at night?

If you think you are stubborn
Can you fight with fire?

If you think you are generous
Can you give out your heart for food?

If you think you are selfish
Can you deny death your life?

If you to think you are rich
Can you rent a room in heaven?

If you think you are educated
Can you tell the sum of sand, stars, hair and inhalation?

If you think you were blessed to race
Can you compete with wind?

If you think you are industrialized
Can you manufacture the ladder to heaven?

If you think you are an excellent liar
Can you deceive, GOD your SOUL and SATAN?

If you think you are never forgetful
Do you remember where GOD stood while creating you?

If you think you know business
Do you know the price of LIFE?
Just thank the Almighty for whoever you are

If You Think
POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Upon joining senior five in high school, I encountered a strange environment where most students were so boastfulness, proud and extreme braggants. I felt out of place and that made me write this piece to balance status since no one among them can never answer questions poses by the piem
