If You Went Away - Poem by Phil Soar
I trust you not to leave and go astray
My feelings would be lost, in disarray
There would be little I could think to say
If you ever went away
And if you ever left and broke my will
The thought of missing you would leave me still
Unable to perform my very best
If you ever took your heart and left
If I ever gave you cause to leave
No matter how I felt, I'm sure I'd grieve
And underneath it all, I'd fall apart
If you ever left and took your heart
