If You Were Me Poem by Garrett Nakai

If You Were Me

If You Were Me You Would Be Dead Already,

I Live A Life Choosing To Be Free,

You Live A Life That I Can't See,

They Don't Care If We're Dead Or Alive,

If You Were Me You Would Cry All The Time,

I Lay In Bed Thinking About Bailey,

You Lay In Bed Thinking About Suicide Daily,

They Lay In Bed Sleeping To Survive,

If You Were Me You Would Not Smile,

I Don't Like To Look In The Mirror,

You Look In There And See Nothing But Horror,

They Look In There And Got 7 Years Bad Luck,

If You Were Me You'd Be On Your Last Buck,

I Waste Nothing More But Time Writing,

You Waste Nothing More But Time Reading,

They Waste Nothing But Time Trying To Understand,

If You Were Me You Wouldn't Be Happy,

I Almost Was A Daddy,

You Almost Were A Mommy,

They Almost Got Me Sick To My Tummy,

If You Were Me You Would Lose Your Mind,

I'm Lost In This Body And Stuck Like A Mime,

Your Lost In Your Head And Forgot The Time,

They Are Lost And Will Not Be Kind,

So If You Were Me,

I Would Be Ready,

For Anything.
