If You Write It, They Will Read

Rating: 5.0

If you write it, they will read,
simple instructions, just follow my lead.
Write some words down on paper,
mystery solved, no more caper.
Write a story, poem or a novel,
maybe about love or your latest grovel.
Write about truth, write about fiction,
how you came over your drug addiction.
Write about God, write about nature,
formed in a letter, or a future lecture.
Write about mom, write about dad,
try it when you're happy,
try it when you're sad.
If you write it, they will read,
keep writing til your fingers blister and bleed.
Write about the killing of your spouse,
after she died, you pulled up her blouse.
Write about torture in your favorite form,
mutilated bodies and the animals that swarm.
Write about body parts hanging from hooks,
they always become best selling books.
If you write it, they will read,
starving audiences ready to feed.
Write about love, write about sex,
adjectives and adverbs make good special effects.
Write about romance, write about passion,
those novels are the latest fashion.
Grab a pencil, grab a pen,
write down a word, then try it again.
If you write it, they will read,
faster than slaves who were recently freed.
