Ifs And Maybes Poem by Kelvin Rush

Ifs And Maybes

Ifs and maybes buts and whatevers
I wish and if onlys and the twelfth of nevers
Forecasts and downcasts and a cunning disguise
Impossible to dissect the establishment lies

Regrets and defects no intellect or fear
Deny any wrongdoing make it sincere
Talk in rhymes be as confusing as you can
Never admit to anything it's all part of the plan

Position your face at thirty degrees
Lower your voice appear to appease
Listen intently then disregard the fact
Deploy your rhetoric it's all part of the act

Everyone knows that you are a stooge
You're about as convincing as a charitable scrooge
Go back to your hovel you've had your turn
Get the hell out of my life and never return
