Ignite Poem by Amanda May Moore

Ignite

un-cuff the past
let go of past crimes of hate
and distrust, forgive.
wipe clean the old slate.
you are a beautiful creation
who is loved.
look deep
be still
listen for your vocation.
be prepared
always ready
and you'll find your salvation.
do not let the ways of the past
play make a mockery of you.
sin is a coquette that will teach
you how to flirt with death.
be cautious of this moribundity
that will chew and thrive on your self-pity.
establish some truth, steer clear
of your former semblance.
clothe yourself with new meaning
with new light. and from that
let within you a passion ignite for what is right.
