Illumination Poem by anne beau

Illumination

and as we lay,
with the weight of the world beneath us.
between us.

and we were together,
because i could feel your breath on my shoulders.

and we know not who we are,
but know we hold the answers between our fingers,
and can taste life's sweet but bitter consequences.

and we were together,
knowing nothing more than any person knows.

but one thing is certain.

the moon spills onto us like my own illumination.

no one can waken us
