Illusory - Poem by Frederick Kesner

each morning
his waking shakes him
from fitful sleep

he reaches out
across the bed
the morning light

b l i n d i n g

his illusion vaporises
the space beside him
E M P T Y

the wind washes away
the ghost of his
i n f a t u a t i o n

and the scent of her skin
faint and fleeting
f a d i n g

the sun bleaches her face
etched during the night
on the bed clothes...

Very cohesive in its delivery. A subconscious brought to life. Like it! (Report) Reply

And his woman of his dreams lays by his side no more.

I dream them next to me at times too. Good one.
