Imago Poem by Daniel Chadwick

Imago

Appletree under a cloud of blossom
.................................................white Persian's tails
brought by light into being
..........................................furred with flowers, fluffed
upon a charcoal sky
.......................................so you can hardly see the green
tonight
.............................or these dark flecks of starlit scattered
...............under its electric light

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The dots are not supposed to be dots, but blank spaces...this is a poem where the concrete elements are important; the odd-numbered lines should be left justified, and the even numbered lines right justified, with the final line centered. Unfortunately, this website does not allow me to space the lines as they ought to be spaced without having dots in the place of blank spaces...the original flows much more smoothly than this

I was curious about the dots and read again after learning why. It made a difference. Thanks, Daniel
