Immigrant In Soul Poem by Daisy Pereira

Immigrant In Soul

I walk along the shores of infinity
like an albatross
pecking on pebbles kicking off sands
takes off for a while
only for a little while
because some ancient memories
clings me to these
sun bathed banks
oceans of sunset.

Some wild promises
moist glimpses
darkest greenness
catch me all the while
whenever I try to fly away.

Nothing but something like something
keeps me afloat
on the waters calm
for some reason unknown
keep me pin down
in these violet hours.

Tell me my friend
though not a bird of bondage,
free to fly away,
still I linger.. Why?

Yes! I am an immigrant in soul...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
When u see a rainbow your heart leaps.. when I see the sunset my heart always sank...when I see the ocean it makes me sad to think about all the exiles of this earth..
