Imminence Poem by Irene C S ClarkHogg

Imminence

I feel sad for tears shed by those who love,
And pity for the one who once was me.
Not personally; for I float high above,
My mind, this soul, is flying free.
I note every room on every floor,
The roof no barrier; into night I soar.

I rest upon my bed, a cloud
That’s drifting North, without a care.
Perceiving all, though eyes are closed,
Hearing, feeling, the peace that’s there.
Freedom from sorrow, fear and pain;
I live in light, below is rain.

And just beyond the far horizon,
Where the sea and sky embrace,
Is a land of endless sunshine;
Where my life will interlace;
One sweet note played in harmony
Within a chord of destiny.
