Impressing Her Poem by Randy McClave

To all I will own up and confess
That woman I wanted and needed to impress,
So, with this current stumbling economy
I knew that I could accomplish it quite easily.
I wouldn't have to beg, plead or rob,
As I have a very high paying corporate job.

On our first date I bought her a gallon of gas
Step one; I did pass,
She then gave me a smile and a big hug
With me she said that she was truly in love.
My dad always said on a first date have a celebration,
So, I took her to a local gas station.

For our first anniversary of dating I wanted to impress her more
I wanted to show off as I had done before,
I took her to Krogers where grocery prices were not lowered
I paid for all her groceries, she was happy and floored.
She gave me all of her love and her tender care,
She truly believed, that I was a millionaire.

Then came the day that I decided to propose
She was the woman in my life that I had chose,
So, I got down on my one bended leg
I gave her a ring, but instead of a diamond, it was an egg.
I had decided to win her soul and heart,
So, I bought the ring setting at the local FoodMart.
