I couldn't help but stare
Mesmerized
By the fluid movement
Of your fingertips
Caressing
Pressing
Dancing along the ivory
Slow and slim
Nimble and divine
I sensed an urgency
Beyond your gentle tune
Haunting me
Sending shivers
Up and down my spine
Sweet suffering
Shimmering
Lingering
Behind the soft, sad notes
Touching me in my heart
So deep, your pain became
My own
Piercing through me
And long after you were through,
My mind was still replaying
That same tender melody
