In A Heartbeat Poem by Carmina Abrenica

In A Heartbeat

You listened to my heartbeat
As if it was your favorite song
My breath on a sweet retreat
Ev'ry gasp has gotten you strong

Your head on my chest as time arrests
A cadence courses freely to our souls
Your gentle fingers on my wrist abreast
Stirrings of ardor and love divinely unroll

Your pounding beat heard on my turn
Bold and proud from racing to slowing
A tone of serenity then and now I yearn
With eyes closed, I feel your whole being

Our profound bond calms every ado
Hums of caress and zephyr-like kiss
Ignite fires to our sentience by ev'ry hue
An abysmal eternity of humble submiss
