In A World Where There Is No Queen Or King (Shakespearean Sonnet) Poem by Edwin Tanguma

In A World Where There Is No Queen Or King (Shakespearean Sonnet)

In A World Where There Is No Queen Or King (Shakespearean Sonnet)

It is once again that time of the year
When the nice warm days begin to grow cold
Sadly it too is the time that I fear
For it reminds me that I’m growing old

If only summer could last all year long
And if youth were also perpetual
Such a thing would make a beautiful song
Life as we know it would never be dull

I’m sure some would find it rather boring
Living life in such a society
In a world where there is no queen or king
Did I mention all that one needs is free

How many crimes might this eliminate
How many more might choose love and not hate
