In Bed With Flowers Poem by George Samuel

In Bed With Flowers

Pure sleep,
Do not bring my burdens to me,
The slogans of life, quote my lips:
An agony to live,
Let me sleep so sound and deep.

Till this world is lost,
To me, and it's lies,
Die in dust,
While I lay peaceful on rubies,
On wheels that cannot rust.

I left my first thought behind,
Like an ophan child,
That woke up blind,
The third, left me chilled,
When life was cruel, I was kind.

But in this sleep,
Where flowers bloom,
And no words I heard is wrong,
The bride smiling at their groom,
That so suddenly I forgot to be strong,
But soundly slept, where flowers loom.
