In Darkest, Hardest Nights Poem by Mohammad Younus

In Darkest, Hardest Nights

In the darkest, hardest nights,
I find my lord within myself,
Whispering softly:
'The sun will rise from darkness.
Indeed, with every difficulty comes ease,
Indeed, with every difficulty, there is ease.'

I remind myself to hold fervent hope
for the bright sun, at the end of the night
The sun rising within my inner heavens,
Illuminating every corner of my heart,
Leaving no part submerged in darkness.

My godmaster within teaches me
With patience and love,
As one might guide a child,
learning something new.
Realizing how my godmaster's care
Makes me grateful,
I now see light in many forms—
Knowledge, wisdom, awareness,
and enlightenment—
Essential for navigating,
through dark waters and nights.
