In Her Mind (With Regards To My Teacher)

(Remember:
With the heart, you can love. You can forgive. You can see the real beauty of a person. Without it, you’re numb. You’re useless. You’re dead.)

Good morning, teacher,
How are you today?
Asked the young meddler,
Who had lots to say.

I’m kind of good.
'Twas his quick reply.
While the girl gobbled food,
And gave a sigh.

He asked classmates of the child,
Who can bring this the next day?
But no one replied,
Which made him dismayed.

He said his speech,
Which was quite long.
It made everyone breeched,
As if there’s something wrong.

Turns out, it’s not right,
The words that he said.
For he uttered, “They’re right,
You have no hearts, just heads.”

The bell rang, and he stormed out,
But they just don’t seem to care.
Some, seeing the little girl’s pout,
Just stood there and stared.

Moments after, she ran outside,
Tears streaming down her cheek.
She called my name, then she’d confide,
The words that made her weak.

I told her, “Hush, hush, don’t cry,
Tomorrow you’ll start anew.
Just stand up and give it a try,
For you know your intentions are true.”
