In Memory Of Jayanta Mahapatra Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

In Memory Of Jayanta Mahapatra

I remember
How did Jayanta Mahapatra
Send me the books
By post
Or parcel me
When I requested him to send
The whole set of his books,
His photographs
And I received the Xerox-copies
Of earlier volumes,
Of those out of print
And out of stock,
Unavailable?
I could not believe
That he would respond to me
But he did
And the books reached me,
Xerox copies of
Close the Sky Ten by Ten,
A Father's Hours,
Life's Signs,
Dispossessed Nests
And a copy of Chandrabhaga
Together with
Svayamvara and Other Poems,
A Rain of Rites,
Waiting,
The False Start,
Relationship,
Random Descent,
Bare Face,
The Lie of Dawns
But I liked his phots most,
His beautifully handwritten etters,
Waiting,
Door of Paper
And his quick response.
