In Midnight Do We Part Poem by Cynthia Aluning

In Midnight Do We Part

Close your eyes, easier to feel than look
Eyes to the soul is read like a sad book
With every sentence, another tear to cry
Every paragraph, cascading tears from the eye

Under the sad and pale moonlight
Tears that shed are like pearls so bright
Its misery is dark as enfolds in the night
Hopes of tomorrow, a view of you in sight

Crying a river when time halts to depart
Leaving is like a dagger struck in the hearts
Oceans of water, distance and time apart
Kisses in the air, blown in whispering waves
