In Mumbai's Heart: A Sanctuary Poem by Sumita Jetley

In Mumbai's Heart: A Sanctuary

In Mumbai's bustling core,
A room stands quiet, a sacred lore.
Ananya's eyes, like evening stars,
Find prophets in her books, not avatars.

Wooden shelves, a rustic hue,
Hold wisdom old and insights new.
Each spine she touches, each page she turns,
Fuel for the soul that forever yearns.

Meera enters, her wonder vast,
'Why so many books? ' she asked at last.
'Each book's a prophet, ' Ananya said,
'Guiding hearts, where angels fear to tread.'

In that room of ink and light,
Two souls connected, pure and bright.
Closer to prophets, they both drew,
In a city old, yet ever new.

Through books they found what's rarely seen:
A love profound, a tranquil sheen.
In a world of noise, a quiet plea,
Ananya's books set their spirits free.

So in Mumbai, where life's unfurled,
Rests a tale that's seldom told.
A sanctuary of books, wisdom's bow,
A beauty to which even prophets would kow
