In Nature New Lessons Poem by Francis Duggan

In Nature New Lessons

In Nature new lessons for us every day
Yet of her i know little in truth i can say
There is more to her than the birds and the bees
And the soughing of the freshening wind in the trees
And there is more to her than rain and sunshine
Or of the darkness of grapes ready to pick for wine
She is quite amazing would you not agree
Amazing to many and amazing to me
The food we live on her Earth Mother for us does grow
Yet the respect she does warrant to her we never show
On the Earth that we depend on for to live
We take and we take and in return little give
We never does treat Nature as a dear friend
Yet it is her Earth Mother who feeds us why otherwise pretend.
