In Silence Poem by Darren Harris

In Silence

Rating: 5.0

Dreaming never ending nightmares,
Forever screaming out in pain,
Plagued by flashbacks of abuse,
Images burned upon my brain,

Reaching out for a lifeline,
Silently crying with inner rage,
The pages in the book are all empty,
As I tear out page after page,

Memories imprisoned, forever stirring,
Within my empty book of life,
Body bruised and forever scared,
Blood spilled by the blade of a knife,

Guilty feelings and self-loathing,
A worthless life just ebbing away,
Memories of an innocent child,
Left alone to rot and decay,

Voices screaming out of nowhere,
Shouting out their demands,
I try to tell you but you don’t listen,
None of you try understand,

Voices screaming, feeling worthless,
Empty book, self-loathing, guilt,
Flashbacks, nightmares, silently crying,
Innocent child with much blood spilt,

But still I suffer in silence…….
