In Silence, We Scream Poem by chris schwartz

In Silence, We Scream

Rating: 5.0

I didn't see her,
Until I recognized
What the stars meant
On the first night
I looked into her eyes.
I never saw her.
The child within.
What I found
Most beautiful,
Until almost the end.
I never felt
The clock ticking
Swiftly
Towards the journey
Of "Goodbye."
The dreams she had
I thought were hers
Though she spoke with
Urgency
That they were ours.
My listening skills were interrupted
Muffled
By the sounds of the day
I never quite heard her,
Until yesterday.
Silence cries louder
Death seems to summons
The words
Of the child
Who strives still
Longingto be heard.
